We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technology Lead to join our dynamic team at Optum Match. The Technology Lead is accountable for overall technical strategy, architecture, and execution that drive the development and evolution of Optum Match. You will oversee the end-to-end technical delivery, ensuring our platform is built with scalability, security, and performance in mind. This role involves leading a team of engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leading the strategic direction of our technology initiatives.In this pivotal role, you will lead and mentor a team of engineers, driving best practices in coding standards, development process, and technical innovation. You will also collaborate with stakeholders to align on product vision and ensure timely delivery, while maintain a solid focus on the quality and integrity of our platform. You ultimately will be accountable for ensuring that the technology not only meets current requirements but is also positioned to evolve with future growth and business needs. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Establishes successful partnerships across business and technology stakeholders to ensure the right problems are being solved the right way to meet customer needsAlign technical direction with product goals and business strategy, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of the product, balancing business goals with technical constraintsProvide a consistent and successful interface between engineering, product, and designWork closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business and user needs into technical requirements and actionable plansDevelop and own the technical vision and architecture for the digital product/application, ensuring scalability, security, and high performanceMake key decisions on technology stacks, tools, frameworks, and best practicesOversee the entire software development lifecycle, from initial planning and architecture through to deployment and maintenanceDrives the application of modern software engineering practices to improve team delivery and solution outcomesProvide technical guidance and support to team members, promoting best practices in coding standards, software design, and development methodologiesLead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvementDevelopment, measurement, and management of key metrics for group’s performanceYou’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:7+ years of experience in at least one modern tech stack 7+ years of experience in Agile development methodology5+ years of experience in engineering managementPreferred Qualifications:Healthcare industry experienceHighly adaptable in a dynamic environmentProven familiarity with many technologies*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Rhode Island, Washington, Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $122,100 to $234,700 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
