Job Summary
Learn more about the general tasks related to this opportunity below, as well as required skills. Oversee and manage the Engineering group for Operations. The group includes; Engineering Project Manager, Sr. Operations Engineer, and Operations Engineers. Responsible for providing Engineering and Capital Projects support to warehouse facilities. In addition to capital projects management, focus will be safety, quality, service, cost and people through various initiatives. Responsible for development and implementation of Capital projects for the distribution centers, specifically a new WMS (Warehouse Management System).
Job Description Responsibilities: Responsible over team to document existing requirements and new requirements needed in a new WMS. Contribute in RFP vendor selection process which will include site visits, vendor visits and partake in vendor demos.
Managing the design process which may involve working with vendors, software engineers, developers and architects.
Building strong relationships and collaborating with other departments is crucial for success.
Decision-making, alignment, staffing, prioritization, leading through change, and working through ambiguity.
Responsible for change management and communications to various departments leadership teams.
Conduct training, when appropriate, in system changes and implementations.
Develop and mentor staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.
Required Experience: Education Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Industrial Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering).
Work Experience At least 6 years of experience in Manufacturing / Supply Chain.
At least 4 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.
Advanced skill levels in technical writing, design documents and workflows.
Advanced skill in data analysis and the presentation of data.
Advanced WMS Knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications Some experience in Transportation Systems (TMS)
Some experience in Labor Management Systems (LMS)
SQL/SQL Developer/MS Access experience
