The Commercial Finance Manager, Freight Car Products is responsible for overseeing and managing the commercial finance activities within the Wabtec Freight Car Products Group. These responsibilities include sales and gross margin analysis, revenue recognition, pricing analysis, accounts receivables collections and related activities, warranty analysis, and rebate calculations. This role will also perform other accounting related duties and prepare financial reports for internal and corporate use. This role will report to the Finance Director within the Wabtec Freight Car Products Group. What do we want to know about you? Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field 2+ years of progressive financial or operational experience in a large company Thorough understanding of US GAAP and Revenue Recognition policies Experience with fully integrated ERP systems - Oracle (or similar software) Strong Microsoft Office computer skills - Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, Power Pivot, Power Query, VLOOKUP, etc), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint. Ability to prepare well-constructed spreadsheets demonstrating a high degree of financial acumen Personal Skills and Characteristics Driven and enthusiastic with the ability to demonstrate a passion to contribute to achieving business goals Hands-on leadership style with strategic thinking, problem solving and analytical skills Strong judgment and decision-making skills Committed to driving change and accountability and implementing standard practices and initiatives Performs well with ambiguity and under pressure; can effectively cope with change and act without having the total picture Commitment to business ethics and integrity What will your typical day look like?

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Overall commercial finance support for ~$300M sales across 6 sites in North America Perform sales and gross margin analysis across key business product lines, ensuring business profitability and escalating issues or improvement opportunities as fit Ensures appropriate revenue recognition in-line with US GAAP and business contracts Works directly with Customer Service, Sales, and Group Leadership to identify areas for pricing adjustments and optimization Manage the accounting for customer rebate and sales commissions programs, calculate accruals, compile sales data for payouts, maintain all supporting documentation. Review and establish credit limits for all new customers, perform credit reference checks, run D&B reports. Prepare analysis of Allowance for Doubtful Accounts, ensuring adequate provision is made. Assist in the monthly close process, prepare journal entries, and perform account reconciliations as assigned. Assist in preparation of monthly forecasts and annual financial plan for related areas. Perform other ad-hoc accounting assignments. Collaborate with various functions across the organization to identify and implement process improvements Ensures accounting procedures are documented and up to date. Supports internal and external audits involving review of accounting records and internal controls, including SOX. Partner with Finance Director on strategic initiatives and team development and objectives. Willingness to travel periodically to various sites across Chicago, Ohio, and Pennsylvania You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
