This position is located at the White Earth Service Unit, in Ogema, Minnesota and can be assigned to the Nursing Department and/or Outpatient Department. The incumbent is a member of a patient care team that will perform basic patient care services and technical tasks. The position reports to the Director of Nursing.
Duties
Adheres to regulatory standards and related IHS regulations, policies and/or procedures while providing comprehensive, skilled, competent are specific to the age of the patients (neonate, infant, school age, adolescent, adult and geriatric) based on knowledge/skills, scope of practice and the provider's plan of care.
Reviews charts of assigned patients to determine appropriate services based on patient needs.
Coordinates clinical flow within the clinical care team. Plans, organizes and allocates/adjusts resources in response to workload and priority changes.
Maintains current professional required certification(s). Seeks professional development and educational activities to develop and maintain standards for clinical competency.
Performs other duties as assigned that are related to this position.

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, with major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position.

Experience performing intake procedures by obtaining chief complaint, purpose of visit; experience taking vital signs, i.e. temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, height, weight, and pain screen.
GS-06:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Examples of Specialized Experience for the GS-06:
Experience performing review on patient charts via Electronic Health Record (EHR); experience determining and carrying out preventative care needs according to standing orders that include colorectal cancer screening, diabetic foot check, women's health screening referral; and experience notifying medical provider of abnormal findings.
