The Opportunity:
The VP, Enterprise Data Management, is a senior technology management role that leads teams in the strategy, delivery and support of firm-wide data. This position can sit in our Camas, WA, (near Portland, OR) office, our Plano, TX, (near Dallas, TX) office, or our Tampa, FL, office. This will be a direct hire opportunity.
Foundational to the position is serving as the provider of data repositories, tools, processes, governance, and core metrics that are used for reporting, analytics, and research across the firm. We are looking for the experience to co-create vision and strategy that enables the wider enterprise and technology organization, and the ability to instill confidence in others. This position includes responsibility for production support, project delivery, and the enablement of business-line teams involved in analytics and reporting functions.
The holder of this position will provide leadership for 30-50 staff and contractors as well as consultants and vendors. This leadership includes responsibility for the development and recruitment of personnel.
The Day-to-Day:
- Build, deploy, and support data assets and tools that meet the needs of business partners for operational and executive reporting, data quality, appropriate governance, security, and that provide data support for AI, ML and predictive analytics efforts throughout the firm
- Develop technology strategy and roadmaps together with enterprise groups, vendors and other internal technology partners
- Achieve projects and programs while meeting time, budget, and scope goals
- Remain current on technology trends and industry solutions that impact the partner businesses and firm technology at large
- Actively partner with and manage vendors who provide technology services and solutions
- Measure, communicate and support application stability, monitoring and production support
- Develop scorecards, SLAs, and KPIs together with the enterprise and other technology partners to evaluate success, determine areas for improvement, and identify areas of opportunity
- Contribute to technology risk evaluation including the management of obsolescence and technology debt
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external legal requirements.
- Develop and manage budgets and resources
- Work with peers and management on the development of mission, standards, services and goals
- Recruit, build, and mentor teams
Your Qualifications:
- Must have 10+ years of progressively responsible experience managing and building IT teams and leadership in wealth management or finance
- Experience delivering and supporting enterprise data platforms; data architecture & governance; analytics, data integration architectures and tools; Microsoft Azure; along with knowledge of SOX, GDPR, MiFID II, and other legal and compliance regulations affecting data
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technology, risk, and business teams in the creation and delivery of data technology and maturity roadmaps
- Ability to have constructive interpersonal interactions with both individual contributors and senior executives inside and outside of technology
- Experience leading enterprise technology transformation initiatives including hands-on use of various development methodologies; a solid grasp of software life-cycle management; and productive collaboration with business-led technology functions
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in a STEM field) or equivalent combination of education/experience is required. MBA or equivalent is preferred
Compensation:
- $150,000 - $250,000 base salary per year in the state of WA - New hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experience.
- Eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
