Duke Dermatology Clinics . Position will work with attending physician to collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations, and provide direct patient care services to general pediatric and adult dermatology patients. Primary hours will be Monday through Friday, day shift, with hours flexible to meet the needs of the patients. Position will require working at up to two different clinic sites in the Durham/Raleigh/Chapel Hill area. Job Duties & Responsibilities In collaboration with attending physician(s), treat patients in Duke Dermatology Clinics to assess, diagnose, plan treatment, set priorities and realistic outcomes, and evaluate the effectiveness and cost efficiency of patient care. These activities will be performed in-person as could include telehealth visits. Patient population will include general dermatology pediatric or adult patients in one of more of our clinical sites. Analyze clinical practice patterns so as to provide the best medical care and to increase effectiveness and efficiency. Communicate verbally and in writing all pertinent patient information to supervising MD, nursing staff, patient resource manager, home health agency, and other relevant healthcare providers. Provide timely documentation in the electronic medical record of all relevant data including results of diagnostic tests; laboratory results; patients' condition and response to therapies/interventions; communications with physician colleagues. Job Eligibility Requirements Education Nurse Practitioners: Work requires completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with a Master's degree in Nursing. Physician Assistants: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. A Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred. Certification BLS required. License Nurse Practitioners: Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required. National certification as a NP required prior to or within 6 months of employment. Physician Assistants: Must be licensed in the state of NC, and be certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Experience 1+ years of dermatology APP experience required.
