How will you make a difference? The Wabtec Associate Architect is responsible for supporting the Enterprise Architecture function at Wabtec. This highly visible and influential role would collaborate with leaders across IT while developing key strategies, standards, solution demand engagement artifacts and templates to create and operationalize critical EA processes at Wabtec. This position is part of the Office of the CIO (Chief Information Officer) and reports directly to the Director of Wabtec IT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture. What do we want to know about you? You must have: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience required. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise with 7-10+ years of experience in IT field with related to areas of enterprise architecture, complex solution architectures (i.e. experience with application architecture, technology platforms, Cloud (AWS, Azure, OCI etc.), ERP, Cyber Security, Data Management, Advanced Analytics), large enterprise-wide transformation initiatives Awareness and/or knowledge of business processes (engineering, manufacturing, operations, services) Experience leading IT projects and knowledge of IT Program Management processes Experience and knowledge of key IT processes Able and willing to travel occasionally (domestically and international as needed to support business needs) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Business thinking and highly strategic to define practical solutions that align with corporate strategy Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate and influence both internal and external stakeholders Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaborative solutions to complex problems, understanding potential impacts to processes and related IT systems supporting the company Effectively manage ambiguity in all aspects of work, including business direction and strategy Proven record of setting targets, executing a plan, and delivering results Ability to plan and provide structure and organization in a fast paced, changing environment Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to balance and effectively prioritize multiple projects simultaneously Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills Ability to decompose problems and make decisions when problems or solutions are not 100% defined Uses critical thinking skills and disciplined approaches to help leaders and leadership teams resolve issues and define solutions. Develop key artifacts and templates to create and operationalize critical EA processes at Wabtec (e.g., to facilitate programs to support EA Governance and select deep dive architecture reviews). Work with key leaders and architects across the organization on all Enterprise Architecture domains Business, Application, Information (Data), Technology and Security (BAITS) Participate in development of Enterprise Architecture Strategy, Standards and collaborating with project teams on Solutions Create and maintain key EA templates and guide teams on how to use them through new demands, initiation, and projects to support effective reviews and informed decision making. Work closely with application/information/solution/technical architects to help develop architecture artifacts needed for End-to-End Architecture and Solution Architecture approach deliverables Support team to develop, manage, enhance business process/capability models along maturity framework to drive mutual understanding and inputs into EA assessment and planning across EA domains as well as to enable long-term roadmaps Work closely with domain architects and leaders to develop strategies and roadmaps Analyze business challenges and innovatively surpass obstacles, collaborating beyond departmental lines to achieve outcomes. Investigate and endorse optimal strategies that fortify critical Enterprise Architecture domains. Seek comprehensive solutions cooperatively in fluctuating or unprecedented scenarios. Craft preliminary documents and perspectives with direction in intricate circumstances. Potentially spearhead functional groups or Enterprise Architecture initiatives. Promote and instill best practices to maintain consistent, standards-aligned architectures enterprise-wide. What about the physical demands of the job?
