Job Title: Warehouse Operator
Job Description

We are looking for candidates to support our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will primarily be responsible for loading and unloading freight onto and off trucks, predominantly open flatbed trucks. You will work closely with truck drivers to ensure products are secured or removed correctly. Additional responsibilities include entering data and orders into the computer, performing final touch-ups on outgoing freight, and assisting with assembly tasks during downtime. This role requires a mechanically inclined individual with a keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Locate material and move it to the appropriate area using a forklift.
• Pack, seal, label, and prepare materials for shipping when required.
• Load material onto truck trailers, ensuring optimal delivery sequence.
• Verify material to confirm the correct items are placed on trucks.
• Stage loads for full truck and LTL shipments.
• Close production work orders when needed.
• Perform assembly work as required.
• Pick parts and products for the truck.
• Collect and organize items ordered by customers and prepare them for shipment.
• Operate equipment to collect, deliver, and package goods.
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

Essential Skills

• 1 year of sit-down forklift experience.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must have steel toe boots.

Work Environment

Candidates will work within the warehouse and dock areas, which are not temperature-controlled but have open bay doors during warm weather. The facility includes an air-conditioned cafeteria and is organized by department. The warehouse is relatively clean, though there is a possibility of getting dirty throughout the day. Candidates are expected to maintain a clean workstation. The standard shift is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime by coming in early or working voluntary weekends.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
