Position Type: Direct Hire
Required: Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in project controls, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-disciplinary electric utility infrastructure projects.
Expertise in project scheduling, cost management, and risk assessment, particularly in a utilities or infrastructure setting.
Experience with project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Cost Management Software). Expert in Primavera P6
Proficient in MS Project or other Planning software and PowerB is a plus
Skills and Abilities: Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
In-depth knowledge of project controls methodologies, processes, and best practices.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong understanding of utilities industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, cost estimation tools, and project management software.
Responsibilities: Leadership and Oversight:
Lead and manage the Project Controls department, including scheduling, cost control, and risk management teams. Provide direction, mentorship, and professional development to staff, ensuring a high level of performance and accountability.
Project Planning & Scheduling:
Oversee the creation and maintenance of project schedules, including baseline schedules, progress tracking, and forecasting. Ensure schedules are realistic, aligned with project objectives, and optimized for resource allocation.
Cost Control and Budget Management:
Develop and maintain cost management processes, including the development of project budgets, cost tracking, variance analysis, and forecasting. Ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to budget constraints.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess project risks and lead efforts to develop mitigation strategies. Oversee risk management processes, including the preparation of risk registers and contingency plans.
Reporting & Communication:
Provide regular project performance reports to senior management, including schedule and cost status, risk assessments, and recommendations for corrective actions. Ensure timely communication of project progress, challenges, and opportunities to stakeholders.
Process Improvement:
Lead initiatives to standardize and improve project controls processes, tools, and methodologies. Drive continuous improvement in project management practices across the organization.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with project managers, engineering, procurement, construction, and other functional teams to ensure project controls are aligned with overall project goals. Act as a liaison between project teams and senior management.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards in all project controls activities. Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of project controls activities and decisions.
