CRITICAL CARE PHYSICIAN NIGHTS

The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a full-time fellowship trained, board certified or board eligible, Critical Care physician or Pulmonary Critical Care physician, to staff the Intensive Care Unit.

The night Critical Care physician provides on-site coverage for ICU for one week, every weeknight and weekend night for 7 days. Work hours are 12-hour shifts from 6 pm to 6 am. The schedule is one week (7 days) on and 2 weeks (14 days) off.

Position Details:

Provides care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.

Supervises the medicine house staff in the ICU.

Evaluates patients who may require ICU care, when called from the Emergency Department or other inpatient units.

Leads emergency responses and supervises the medical house staff in Medical Code, Rapid Response, and Sepsis Code Teams

Performs requested consultations for emergencies in other critical care units -Surgical, Cardiac, Neurologic, Cardiothoracic ICUs.

Supervises and teaches the medicine house staff who staff the ICU, critical care consultation and emergency response teams.

Position Qualifications:

Medical degree from an accredited university

Texas State Medical License or ability to obtain a Texas Medical License by start date

Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills

Respectfully collaborate and build relationships with a diverse set of teammates

The division has a large Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship program and centers of excellence in Critical Care, Pulmonary Hypertension, Interventional Pulmonology, Advanced lung disease, Advanced COPD careand Sleep Medicine.Our team perform advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy with endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) with the emphasis on personalized, high quality patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Doctorate Degree in Medicine

- Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board

- Where Applicable - Employee shall be currently board certified in his or her speciality or demonstrate board of the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists
