Midwest Center for Youth and Families is seeking a talented and dynamic Residential Therapist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals! Available Shifts: Sunday - Thursday, dayshift Tuesday - Saturday, dayshift Midwest Center for Youth and Families
(a subsidiary of UHS) has been in operation since 1997, serving youth across the country that are in need of psychiatric treatment for variety of mental health issues. The Midwest Center is a respected healthcare provider, fully accredited, 74-bed private, residential treatment facility with locations in Valparaiso and Kouts, IN. We are dedicated to care of the hearts and minds of our patients with compassion and superior quality behavioral healthcare services through our full-immersion Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program for children and adolescents ages 10 - 18 who struggle with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges. Website: https://www.Midwest-Center.com Position Summary: Utilize professional training to provide appropriate treatment to the patient and their families. In conjunction with a transdisciplinary team, you will complete an assessment of the patient's condition and formulate and implement individualized recreational goals. You will provide and coordinate therapeutic recreation programming and manage cases in conjunction with the DBT programming model. Job Duties/Responsibilities: *recreational programming focusing on DBT skills related to mindfulness, coping skills and stress management techniques including recreational therapy techniques utilizing leisure education, leisure skills, social skills and team building *provide structure that affords patients positive alternaties to behavior through groups, play and structured individual time *provides activities for patients following a program group schedule provided by direct report. Subject to change as needed to fit program needs. *Plans and schedules therapeutic activities on and off facility grounds to meet individual needs as identified on treatment plans. *Provide set holiday activities on provided dates *Provides direction, education, and in-services to other program personnel regarding recreational activities Benefit Highlights:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or degree equivalency from an accredited college or university required. Experience: Minimum of two years or related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness preferred Requirements:
