Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage the budget for the Security department, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
Oversee the overall performance of the Security team, maintaining high standards of safety and security.
Provide protection and ensure the safety of guests and team members across all areas of operation.
Assist in the recruitment, development, and retention of team members, including conducting interviews, coaching, and managing the hiring and termination processes.
Regularly review staffing levels to ensure alignment with budgeted employment needs.
Collaborate with departmental directors and managers as needed to address operational and security concerns.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, fostering community involvement and cooperation.
Manage and implement the property’s emergency and disaster response plans.
Oversee programs designed to prevent underage individuals from accessing gaming areas.
Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the Security department.
Standards of Performance:
Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities in directing a Security department.
Ability to maintain positive and professional interpersonal relationships with all personnel.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, including gaming laws, Innkeeper Laws, ABC control regulations, OSHA, and Health Department guidelines.
Excellent public relations and customer service skills.
Outstanding oral and written communication abilities.
Capacity to take full responsibility for the department’s performance, working flexible hours, and managing high-pressure situations and deadlines effectively.
Education, Training, and Experience:
Four to seven years of experience in security, with expertise in investigations, surveillance, and patron/property liability within high-volume businesses or industries.
A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
Experience in opening new operations or locations is preferred.
Must be able to obtain a valid Racing License
