We are seeking a Total Rewards Director to join our clients North America HR Senior Leadership team, reporting directly to the Head of HR. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the design, delivery, and management of a comprehensive total rewards strategy, including compensation, benefits, wellness initiatives, and more. Your primary focus will be on developing and governing competitive reward programs that align with the evolving needs of the business and the workforce in North America.
Key Responsibilities:
Workforce Strategy & Planning:
Lead efforts to define job architecture, position management, and workforce planning to support the company’s overall objectives. Compensation Strategy:
Develop and implement market-competitive compensation programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, and internal mobility frameworks that support business goals. Benefits Program Oversight:
Design and manage employee benefit plans such as health insurance, retirement options, and wellness initiatives, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Executive Compensation:
Lead the development of executive compensation packages and long-term incentive programs, ensuring alignment with company goals and market standards. Performance-Linked Rewards:
Foster a high-performance culture by aligning compensation strategies with the company’s pay-for-performance philosophy. Communication & Change Management:
Lead communication efforts to educate employees on total rewards programs, ensuring clarity and engagement across the organization. Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all total rewards programs comply with relevant laws and industry standards, proactively adapting to regulatory changes. Data-Driven Decisions:
Leverage analytics to assess program effectiveness and inform decision-making. Vendor Management:
Oversee relationships with external vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality service delivery. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with HR, Finance, and Senior Leadership to ensure total rewards strategies support overall business objectives. Continuous Program Improvement:
Regularly evaluate and refine total rewards initiatives to ensure they remain competitive and meet the needs of the workforce. Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor a team of total rewards professionals, fostering growth, performance, and team development. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MHRM) preferred. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards, with a strong leadership background. Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with 5+ years of experience managing others. Strategic mindset with the ability to navigate complex organizational environments and collaborate with senior leadership. Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting compensation and benefits data to make informed decisions. Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations related to total rewards programs. Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills, with experience in large-scale program implementation. This role is key to shaping a competitive and effective total rewards strategy that attracts, retains, and motivates top talent while aligning with the company’s broader business objectives.
