The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Health & Community Services / Fiscal Division.
The Human and Community Services Division’s (HCSD) mission is to support the strengths of families and communities by providing the assistance necessary to help families and individuals meet basic needs and work their way out of poverty. To achieve this mission, HCSD administers several assistance programs including but not limited to SNAP, TANF, LIHEAP, CSBG, and food commodities. Under the general supervision of the Fiscal Bureau Chief, this position is responsible for ensuring the Division and its contracted sub-recipients for these programs are in compliance with state and federal financial requirements. This includes performing compliance, financial, and other types of audits and engagements in accordance with the annual monitoring plan with minimal supervision. * *

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity ** * * * Teamwork skills with a willingness to contribute creative and innovative ideas as well as to support other staff with their projects. * Knowledge of 2 CFR 200 and other federal regulations. * Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for governmental entities. * Knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS). * A high degree of analytical skills including accounting analysis and math skills, and ability to multi-task on various projects. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration or related field. o Two years directly related experience o Other combinations of education and experience may be substituted. * *
