In this role, your focus will be on dual-stacked (IPv4 and IPV6)
Security infrastructure that includes DNS, Firewalls,
AWS Cloud, and Enterprise logging solutions for our client’s large enterprise network. You will be experienced with DNS, DHCP, Next-Gen firewalls, and network technologies, ideally in large enterprise environments. A solid foundation of
IPv4
AND
IPv6
routing and switching experience is critical to our client’s approach to Security Engineering. You will have the opportunity to work extensively with DNS, various firewalls, and IDS/IPS
technologies. This diverse team is responsible for securing a large infrastructure. We are seeking a motivated individual who is a keen learner, as this team is constantly evolving and is currently designing and implementing cloud security solutions.
If you’re the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to work on both operational and project-based assignments.
You will work on projects independently. Being able to be trusted to work autonomously and use Internet resources, documentation, and TAC support to solve problems is a must. Required Experience:
5+ years of related Information Technology experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or related degree or an additional two (2) years of relevant experience.
2+ years of experience in BlueCat DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IP management) administration
5+ years of solid Networking experience (Routing & Switching). The successful candidate will be experienced with troubleshooting
networking, DNS , and firewall issues and must be experienced with TCP/IP and IP subnetting
5+ years of experience working in IPv4/IPv6 dual-stacked environments with multi-context Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA or Palo Alto firewalls. This experience must include firewall configuration changes in a high availability environment, and the candidate must understand fundamentally how these devices work
Must have Solid hands-on DNS experience. Able to troubleshoot DNS issues related to
zone transfer, DNSSEC, etc
Strong IPv6 networking and troubleshooting experience
Experience with DnsDist and DoH (preferable)
The successful candidate will also have experience troubleshooting complex issues involving multiple security devices with the devices themselves and connectivity running through them using both GUI and command line tools
The successful candidate will be experienced working in a mid to large environment and will be able to work with minimal direction
Hands-on Linux OS experience
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
Experience with Security Onion IDS and Elastic Security (preferable)
Responsibilities Include:
Participating in a rotating on-call; rotation is based on the number of team member
Administration/management of BlueCat DDI infrastructure
Firewall changes on Cisco Firepower/ASA and PaloAlto firewalls
Linux server OS maintenance and administration
Work with multiple teams to t-shoot complex issues related to DHCP and DNS (ipv4 and IPv6), and firewalls
Keep detailed records of customer interaction and problem resolution in a ticketing system
Troubleshoot complex connectivity issues involving multiple firewalls, IPS and load balancer, and VPN devices
Provide support for internal and external customers in a large enterprise environment.
Troubleshoot a range of IT security and connectivity issues
Support other team members in troubleshooting and project efforts
Manage hardware and software inventories
Works with remote teams to install, maintain, and troubleshoot security hardware
Ensure customers receive top-of-the-line support in a polite and courteous manner
Develop standard operating procedures and network topology documentation

The salary range for this position is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. It has been benchmarked in relation to the scope of the role, market rate, and internal equity. The salary for this role is expected to be in the $119,500 - $134,500 range. Where a candidate falls within the band can be determined based on one or more of the following: skillset, experience level, achievements, education, geographic location, security clearance, involvement in corporate tasks, and other non-discriminatory factors. In addition to the base salary, this role will include benefits as described above.
Valiant reserves the right to adjust the salary range, experience requirements, and position responsibilities at any time without prior notice.
