Schedule and coordinate patients' appointments utilizing computerized records to include canceling and rescheduling for clinics and services.
Prepare Clinic vists for each business day.
Receive patients and visitors to Outpatient clinics, scheduling lab, imaging and other clinic appointments.
Answer the telephone, provide non-confidential information or refers the caller to agencies/physician.

OR
2 Years of Education above the High School Level. General Experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

1 Year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 Grade Level
OR
4 Years of Education above the high school level. Specialized Experience is defined as experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples include: Scheduling and canceling appointments in a patient care setting; knowledge of medical, technical or specialized terms when communicating with patients and professional staff; thorough knowledge of procedures needed to coordinate unit activities. Obtaining and reviewing medical records and relating clerical functions to the total patient treatment process.
Minimum Qualifications for GS-06
1 Year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 Grade Level. Examples include: Scheduling and canceling appointments in a patient care setting; answering the telephone and providing patients' information to callers in accordance with HIPAA regulations; preparing correspondence to be sent to patients such as appointment confirmations, cancelation and other notifications and maintaining security or confidentiality of records at all times.
Time In Grade
