Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Linthicum, MD is seeking a Principal or Sr Principal Systems Engineer to join our Mission Systems Engineering Integration and Test (MSEIT) team. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to support efforts on both concept and product development to deliver key solutions to our customers. We cover a wide variety expertise within the systems engineering domain. This includes mission engineering, requirements, architecture, modeling and simulation, integration and test, verification and validation, and on-orbit operations and support.

Primary Responsibilities

Work across multiple Space RADAR Payload programs as MSEIT team member supporting requirements, verification, and other Systems Engineering CDRL deliveries.

Help coordinate larger MSEIT team inputs to specifications, verification documents, CONOPS document, and technical description documents.

Engage with Mission Partner to maintain system level specification and verification artifacts.

Maintain segment level, e.g., ground and on-orbit segment, specification and associated verification artifacts.

Work with lower-level SE organizations, e.g., payload and ground, to maintain element level specifications and verification artifacts.

Maintain R&V management process and configuration management of MSEIT external deliveries and internal artifacts.

Work with Configuration Management (CM) to establish, implement, and maintain engineering controls across the larger program.

Work to establish and maintain lower-level IPT processes (ground/payload SE teams) that integrate into program processing.

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Engineer: Bachelor Degree in STEM curriculum with 5 years relevant experience; 3 years with MS Degree; or PhD with 0 years of experience.

Sr Principal Engineer: Bachelor Degree in STEM curriculum with 8 years relevant experience; 6 years with MS Degree; or PhD with 3 years of experience.

Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.

Systems engineering experience (e.g., requirements, mission engineering, architecture, modeling and simulation, integration and test, verification and validation)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with R&V teams for Space programs.

Proponent of process and configuration management.

Can champion change and improvement.

Capable of indirect leadership.

Experience with DOORS, STK, Cameo, MATLAB, Python

Salary Range: $105,400 - $158,000

Salary Range 2: $131,100 - $196,700

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
