38584BR Extended Job Title: Administrative Assistant Position Description: Performs routine administrative support or technical program assistance work. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Requisition ID: 38584BR Travel Required: None Major/Essential Functions: Serves as primary contact for all guests entering the building and information for Academic & Student Affairs. Schedules various meetings for the School of Veterinary Medicine conference rooms, troubleshoots conflicts, maintains good communication, and preparedness of room for upcoming meetings. Ensures that the student class schedules are loaded on corresponding calendars. Serves as primary source for the Office of Student Affairs' procurement card. Complies with all procurement guidelines and adheres to required timelines. Responsible for reconciliation of the department P-Card. Responsible for travel processes of the department Maintains the student kitchen and upkeep on coffee maintenance. Various other duties for the School: Ordering of lab coats and coveralls for faculty, staff. Orders and retrieves magnetic name badges for faculty and staff. Helps to launder kitchen and event linens. Grant Funded?: No Minimum Hire Rate: 16.43 Pay Basis: Hourly Schedule Details: As needed for special events and campus guests. Work Location: Amarillo Preferred Qualifications: Experience with internal systems such as Chrome River, Procurement Card. Knowledge of higher education. Knowledge of Teams. Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including excel, word, and Outlook. Customer service oriented and demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic). Organized and dependable. Ability to work with a sense of urgency and bias towards action in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multi-task. Flexible. Ability to learn computer systems and software as needed.
