Our Team:

The Ratings team provides our clients with fast and accurate market-moving data so they can stay proactive by using our dataset to understand financial performance in the markets and make investing decisions. We combine industry expertise, data management, and technical skills to curate critical metrics and drive insights from our data.

We are dedicated to crafting a best-in-class credit rating analysis while constantly looking to enhance and expand our existing offering through a deep understanding of the markets we operate in, the sectors we cover, and our clients current and future needs.

What’s the role?

The Ratings team owns the data management and analysis for each of the 60+, and growing, credit rating agencies that contribute data, by managing quality and timely delivery of content, while also growing our data offering. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for finance, data, and technology to enhance value from our data products. As a Senior Data Analyst on the Ratings team, you will play a key role in expanding Bloomberg's ratings databases to further deliver an industry-leading data product offering. You will collaborate closely with global team members, domain experts, and business partners, managing priorities of different initiatives and using industry and technical knowledge to help drive decisions and generate new dataset offerings. You will work to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and implement technical solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes. You will bring a unique combination of subject-matter-expertise in Fixed Income, good interpersonal skills, and a passion for problem solving to address our clients’ needs.

We'll Trust You To:

Understand our customers’ needs and markets to ensure data is fit for purpose, ready for use, and meets service level agreements (SLAs)

Collaborate with a wide variety of partners from Engineering to Sales on product development and automation workflow implementation

Research new data sets to expand the coverage of our products

Actively communicate with business partners to facilitate smooth data ingestion with evolving technology

Balance the best of technical and product knowledge to implement solutions for customers

Implement quality control strategies including development of quality control rules

Contribute to the creation of best practices and guidelines for data governance

Proactively support customers by helping them interpret data and predicting their follow-up questions/needs

Apply problem-solving and data analysis skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and implement technology solutions to enhance our processes/overall product strategy

You’ll Need to Have:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business, STEM, or related field/equivalent experience

3+ years of relevant work experience in the financial services industry, including exchanges, market data providers or financial institutions

Legal authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship now and in the futureDemonstrated continuous career growth within an organization

Experience working with data management paradigms and associated tools and technologies, such as the management, governance or quality assurance of data

Ability to take a logical approach and apply critical thinking skills in order to tackle problems

Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy, with the ability to handle priorities from multiple internal and external partners

Ability to adapt within a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Proven customer service skills

We’d Love to See:

Proficiency using Excel as well as experience with SQL or Python

Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikSense or Splunk

Knowledge of statistical analysis and demonstrated applied data analysis skills

Experience transforming workflows into more timely and efficient processes

Experience working with ETL processes and broader data workflow engineering concepts

Experience and knowledge of data validation techniques and processes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency

Awareness of regulatory standards in Credit Ratings, such as those from SEC, and experience ensuring data processes comply with industry guidelines and legal requirements

Strong analytical and communication skills to effectively interpret data insights and collaborate across teams, particularly with technical and client-facing stakeholders
