Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Security Operations Manager to lead the operations and maintenance of large cybersecurity operations center. The successful candidate will coordinate tasks to manage IT security incidents, deploying necessary countermeasures to defend, contain, and recover from incidents. This role requires strong leadership skills and technical expertise to guide SOC analysts and ensure effective cybersecurity strategies and incident response plans are executed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership to SOC analysts to execute cybersecurity strategies and the NOAA incident response plan effectively.
- Threat Response Coordination: Orchestrate the SOC's response to major security threats, ensuring timely and effective action.
- Threat and Vulnerability Evaluation: Provide technical expertise in evaluating threats and vulnerabilities to enhance security posture.
- Cybersecurity Reporting: Prepare and deliver comprehensive cybersecurity reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends. Provide ongoing reports to stakeholders.
- Incident Response Procedures: Maintain and update incident response procedures, ensuring compliance with standards and policies. Develop and conduct training programs to enhance response capabilities.
Certifications: The Security Operations Manager must possess and maintain one or more of the following technical certifications:
- DOD 8140
- SANS DOD 8140 Cert Track
- CompTIA DOD 8140 Cert Track
- CEH-Master-Cert-Track
- ISACA's Cybersecurity Nexus (CSX)
- Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) credential track
