The Finance & Accounting Director guides the accounting policies and practices of the organization including accounting administration and compliance. This role is an active participant in implementing systems and practices that advance CHN's operational priorities; and leads an effective and efficient accounting department.

Responsibilities include:
  • Organizational Leadership
  • Team Leadership
  • Operational and Financial Management that includes activities such as financial reporting and developing responsive solutions, innovations, programs, and funding options that help meet CHN's financial goals.
  • Partner and Vendor Management that includes engaging with outside auditors to ensure optimum financial practices and compliance and engaging with partner agencies to ensure grant, donation, local/state/federal (HUD) compliance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business w/ a major in accounting
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional accounting experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology utilized in role
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Financial Software
  • General ledger experience including account analysis, preparation of account reconciliations, month and year end close, and the ability to explain account variances
  • Experience with multiple organizations and intercompany transactions
  • Real estate development with partnership accounting and tax experience a plus
  • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting a plus
