Who You Are:
Versar Global Solutions is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our growing corporate operations team. Reporting to the VP of Finance, Corporate Controller, this position is responsible for ensuring the business financial accounting activities are performed accurately and in compliance with GAAP and relevant government contracting compliance regulations. This role will help shape the internal accounting function to scale with continued business growth.

The position will primarily work a hybrid schedule. The office is located in in Washington, DC.
Compensation
Expected Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 per year

What You'll Do:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing financial accounting and government cost accounting activities for multiple entities under Versar, including but not limited to:
- Drive the monthly accounting close process including journal entry processing, GL account reconciliations, preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting analysis of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.
- Ensure proper accounting for fixed asset, leases, intercompany and foreign operation items including monthly analysis
- Assist with year-end financial audit, tax preparation and regulatory filings.
- Support Incurred Cost Submissions, internal rates/pools and reconciliation
- Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal control policies and procedures.
- Drive process improvements around the efficiency, timeliness, and accuracy of month-end close and reporting cycles.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations (GAAP, FAR, CAS, tax, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues and make recommendations to management for resolution or mitigation
- Bachelor's degree with minimum of 10 years of direct experience in accounting operations for a federal government contractor. Proficient with Deltek CostPoint.
- CPA Preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, FAR and CAS
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Demonstrated experience with Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Self-starter who takes ownership to identify and solve problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen
- Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
- Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.
