Financial Analyst (Fund Accounting) Job at Inland Group in Oak Brook

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial calculations and analysis for the Alternative Asset Fund. The Alternative Asset Fund is a Public Non-Traded REIT that will calculate net asset value ("NAV") monthly. The financial calculations will be a critical part of the monthly close and NAV calculation processes. The financial analysis will involve financial modeling over areas such as forecasting, financings, acquisitions, and sales. This position reports to the SVP, Director of Portfolio Finance.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adheres to company's policies and procedures, and complies with applicable laws, government rules and regulations.
- Responsible for the monthly NAV calculation, which includes working with asset management, treasury and accounting to obtain all the relevant inputs.
- Responsible for calculating the monthly asset management fee and the performance participation allocation together with the NAV calculation.
- Perform complex financial modeling, analyze the data and develop financial reports for planning, forecasting, trending and variance analysis, as needed.
- Review legal documents, such as leases, management agreements, partnership agreements, loan documents, etc., and perform analysis for decision making, as needed.
- Prepare benchmarking, trend, and variance analysis, as needed, and help develop presentations for management and/or the board of directors.
- Work with external auditors and provide any audit support needed within this area of responsibility.

Education:
- This position requires a bachelor's degree (B.A.), in finance, accounting or economics, from a four-year college or university or equivalent professional knowledge and/or work experience.
- This position requires over 1 year up to 3 years of prior professional experience in accounting or finance and preferably in a real estate environment.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook are required for this position.
- Ability to model investment yields, NPV and IRR calculations.
