Primary Purpose
The Senior Engineering Manager, Master Data on the Data & Analytics team will be responsible for the full lifecycle development, implementation, and production support of the enterprise MDM hub and support data integrations with other applications/systems. This role will need to leverage deep understanding of the Master Data Management (MDM) concepts. The ideal candidate should possess deep technical knowledge and expertise in MDM technology and will implement advanced solutions utilizing Stibo Step,IBM Infosphere, SAP MDG, along with other MDM and integration tools, adhering to industry standard data modeling and design frameworks. This role requires a technical expert who can help guide a team and accelerate the implantation and maturity of ADUSAs' MDM solutions. This role will collaborate with different IT teams and will need the technical expertise to influence areas of solution architecture and data flow design
Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC , Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME, Hyattsville, MD.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Partners with data architects and engineers to ensure an optimal data model design and implementation for each MDM domain in accordance with industry and MDM best practices
• Works with data governance and business steward(s) to design, develop, and configure business rules for data validation, standardize, match, and merge
• Implementation of Data Quality policies, procedures and standards along with Data Governance Team for maintenance of customer, location, product, and other data domains.
• Performs data analysis and source-to-target mapping for ingest and egress of data.
• Maintains compliance with change control, SDLC, and development standards.
• Champions the creation and contribution to technical documentation and diagrams.
• Hire, onboard, and develop top engineering talent. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages continuous learning and improvement.
• Establishes a technical vision and strategy with the team and works with the team to turn it into reality.
• Emphasis on coaching and training to cultivate skill development of team members within the department.
• Responsible for keeping up with industry best practices and trends.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve the MDM ecosystem.
• Manage, develop, mentor and coach a team of Software Engineers.
• Surface insights to executive leadership, as needed, to update and influence
• Act as a mentor to engineers, helping them grow in their careers by providing guidance and support in their professional development.
• Oversee the code review process to maintain high code quality and consistency. Encourage best practices in coding, testing, and documentation.
• Tracks and manages KPIs related to team performance
• Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our Values.
Qualifications
• Masters Degree in Computer Science or Technical field and Masters Degree in Technology and/or Business related field; equivalent trainings/certifications/experience equivalency will be considered
• 8 or more years of equivalent experience in relevant job or field of technology.
• 5 or more years of equivalent experience in an advanced role or technical capacity, leading teams directly or indirectly
• 5 or more years' experience directly responsible for guiding, training or onboarding team members in relevant technologies, capabilities or skills
• 5 or more years managing Master Data Management delivery for Product, Supplier or location domain using tools like Stibo or IBM Infosphere or SAP
• Proven experience leading large-scale master data management initiatives
• 5 or more years' experience in Agile teams and Product/Platform based operating model.
• 5 or more years' experience in leading teams or advancing technical capability in teams.
• Experience with SQL, Master Database management concepts, mongo DB, Kafka, mulesoft etc
• Experience with a distributed micro-services and/or Serverless cloud software architecture
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Data & Analytics Services (like Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks etc)
Preferred Qualifications
• Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Experience with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps Pipelines
• Experienced in agile software development lifecycle
• Post graduate degree advanced training and or certifications in relevant field/s of study preferred
• Strong understanding of Canonical models, data publishing and consuming patterns
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in retail or grocery preferred.
