The Overnight Support Partner at A New Leaf's East Valley Men's Center ensures the safety and well-being of residents throughout the night. This role involves monitoring client check-ins/outs, conducting hourly facility rounds, and completing safety checks to maintain a secure and clean environment. Key responsibilities include crisis intervention, de-escalation support, and documenting any notable overnight incidents. The Overnight Support Partner also assists with light cleaning, restocking supplies, and preparing for the next day's activities. Professional communication, adherence to program protocols, and the ability to remain alert during the night are essential in creating a safe, respectful, and structured environment for residents.
Hourly Pay Rate: $21.50
Location: Mesa, AZ
Schedule: Thursday - Monday: 11pm - 7:30am
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High School or GED preferred.
- 0-1 years of experience working with homeless or economically disadvantaged population
- Demonstrate and provide strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Committed to teamwork and have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of Trauma Informed Care.
- The skills necessary to engage and work with others from diverse ethnic and cultural groups, coupled with always maintaining professionalism.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Actively participate in weekly staff and training meetings.
- Use therapeutic responses with clients; educate on behavior and consequences without threats.
- Track client check-ins and check-outs; ensure adherence to program participation.
- Conduct thorough safety checks, including inspecting items and adhering to bed bug protocol.
- Enforce facility rules, such as no bags or personal items in dorms and proper item storage.
- Complete facility rounds to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Refer clients to case managers for issues beyond basic queries.
- Maintain professional interactions with clients and staff, and follow email etiquette.
- Respond to emergencies, answer calls, and manage voicemails appropriately.
- Handle laundry, sanitizing, and kitchen duties according to safety protocols, including food storage and cleanliness.
- Provide crisis intervention, recognizing mental health symptoms and de-escalating when possible.
- Educate clients on program rules, personal hygiene, and socially acceptable behaviors.
- Keep facility organized, stock supplies, and follow protocol for client exits only when safety is a concern.
- Document client attendance and late notices; report maintenance needs.
- Communicate schedule changes, obtain overtime approval, and remain flexible to program needs.
- Remain awake throughout the shift and provide necessary support, including filling schedule gaps.
