$14.88 an hour
Primary Function:
Prepares and cooks quality meals in daily quantities needed, puts away stock, serves food, cleans kitchen/cafeteria areas and equipment, and as directed by the cafeteria manager or her assistant.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Follows written and oral instructions .Cooperates with co-workers, teachers and other school officials. Deals effectively with children in a pleasant and cheerful manner. Has knowledge and understanding of materials, methods, and equipment used in institutional food preparation. Abides by sanitation regulations of food production. Wears a white uniform or uniform that is approved by manager and/or director. Dress must not be street clothes and must meet health and safety regulations. Wears white leather shoes which meet safety regulations. Accurately performs duties in a timely manner as assigned by manager. Completes O.N.E. course within one (1) full year of employment. Attends 12 hours of in-service and cashier training workshop yearly. Perform additional tasks assigned by the manager of the kitchen or the Director of School Nutrition.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING:
High school diploma or GED - Over 20 hours employee must complete the Orientation for Nutrition Employees
(30 Hour State Course) by the end of the first full year after hire date.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability to carry out assigned preparation, cooking, serving and cleaning duties as assigned. Must be able to consistently lift a minimum of 20 lbs. and up to 50 lbs.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Acceptable institutional working experience or satisfactory substitute.
