Job Summary:

The Vail Resorts Infrastructure Program Management team is looking for a Sr. Business Analyst to join our team! Our Infrastructure team builds, oversees, and supports a variety of real-time integrations, Infrastructure support, cloud management, and enterprise platform support.

 

This position will report to the Program Management lead and will be primarily dedicated to gathering and documenting business requirements, liaising with operational and technical teams, and solution design. Other responsibilities will include resource demand estimation, scoping exercises, and process documentation.  As a Sr. Business Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work independently as well as participate on enterprise projects and initiatives. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operational Support
    • Ensure project intake requests are updated and responded to in a timely manner.
    • Provide support and guidance for internal users in IT and the business.
    • Perform assessments and requirements gathering with various IT teams as tasked.
    • Assess severity/priority of production issues, determine business impact, and communicate progress during resolution. 
  • Project and Portfolio Management
    • Collaborate with business partners at various levels to research and validate functional requirements, and to understand business needs and impact
    • Create detailed functional designs and process flows, using Agile methodologies and tools
    • Perform backlog maintenance through proper story prioritization
    • Support the requirements gathering, execution and delivery for assigned projects.
    • Adhere to QA Life Cycle by developing test plans and test scripts, documenting test results, reporting on results and managing UAT while coordinating testing with business partners.
    • Partnering with the Project Managers and Business Partners to identify priorities, quickly respond to questions, and resolve items to meet team goals
  • Teamwork / Collaboration
    • Willingness to work across multiple teams in an open and collaborative way to design holistic solutions in a fast-paced environment
    • Identify and socialize opportunities to improve integration and support by working with internal teams, within and outside of the IT department.
    • Actively participate and take personal ownership in your career development through self-assessments, mid-year and annual reviews, goal setting and performance management.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent in related job experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of IT Business Analyst and/or related experience
  • Strong requirements gathering, documentation and analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills; listening, written and verbal; ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite including, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Visio
  • Experience creating user stories and tasks in a ticket tracking system such as Jira
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced and complex environment as a part of a team (IT, Business and Vendors)
  • Ability to solve a wide range of technical problems of diverse scope and complexity
  • Ability to follow up consistently to ensure resolution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a shared services IT environment
  • Experience working with various IT toolsets and a matrixed organization
  • Familiarity with XML, FTP, and APIs
  • Familiarity with mobile application development, cloud infrastructure,
  • Experience with SmartSheets
  • PMI-BA, PMI-ACP, IIBA, PSPO, POPM or other accredited certification or coursework is a plus

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $92,396 - $125,793 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.  Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate. This includes: California, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, Vermont, Washington State, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
