Outreach Coordinator - Hill District
The University of Pittsburgh's Office of Engagement and Community Affairs is seeking an Outreach Coordinator to support the Director of the Community Engagement Center - Hill District. This role will focus on fostering and sustaining community and University collaborations, strengthening partnerships, and supporting the development and implementation of the resident and community engagement strategy.
Job Summary
Assists in creating and implementing a robust resident engagement strategy. Attends neighborhood-based community meetings, distributes flyers, and offers program information sessions. Supervises undergraduate interns and student workers. Provides residents and community stakeholders with tours and orientations.
Essential Functions
Qualifications: -Reliable transportation is preferred. -Knowledge of the social, political, and economic dynamics of Pittsburgh specifically within the Hill District community is preferred. -Demonstrated skills in utilizing social media tools Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc., flyer and other visual material creation tools Canva, etc., and newsletter distribution Campaign Monitor, and Contact, etc. for audience engagement is preferred. -Detail-oriented, ability to multitask, and strong customer service skills encouraged.
Expectations/Work Conditions: -This position is 100% in-person. -Regular evening and weekend hours are required.
Job Duties: -Establish and maintain relationships with various interested parties including community organizations, university partners, and civic groups. -Assist the CEC Director with the development and coordination of Community-University partnerships. -Complete regular activity and outcome reporting documentation.
Physical Effort
This position requires the ability to facilitate tabling activities at community events, including the assembly of tent, tables, and the transportation of materials to and from events.
