As a company, we pride ourselves on producing top-quality ratings and research, and being a leader in the market. The structured credit surveillance team is responsible for monitoring credit ratings for a portfolio consisting of 1000+ rated structured finance transactions. Within the structured credit surveillance team, the new hire will develop strong cross-industry knowledge through hands-on credit analysis and valuable skills in the financial services.Responsibilities Perform credit analysis for structured credit transactions backed by corporate assets (BSL CLO, SME CLO, CBO), bank debts (TruPS) or other types instruments (Project Finance CDO, Municipal CDO, SF CDO, Structured Notes). Monitor ratings of existing transactions, provide recommendations or feedback within context of other services (e.g., Rating Agency Confirmation or Pre-Implementation Feedback). Assign new ratings in refinancing/reset/new transactions as needed. Perform required functions related to issuance of new ratings such as authoring pre-sale/new issue reports, composing process release, and complete other administrative duties. Analyze asset pools, transaction structures and cash flows using Moody's methodologies and models, other quantitative or qualitative tools or methods, to formulate independent credit opinions and make recommendations to a rating committee or other discussion forum, review legal documents and other relevant third party reports and data. Lead meetings including on-site issuer/sponsor visits and communicate professionally with issuers/sponsors, investors and bankers, and other stakeholders and build relationships with investors, underwriters and issuers/sponsors and manage key strategic relationships. Develop and maintain up-to-date market intelligence on current developments impacting structured credit transactions and publish high quality research on pertinent credit events and sector trends. Contribute to other sector research such as outlooks. Lead and manage or contribute to key projects such as methodology updates, analytical processes, maintenance and improvement of Moody's models, tools, data, and processes, with opportunity (subject to business needs) to develop deep specialization in specific asset classes. Collaborate with colleagues, and mentor or train new or junior analysts. Follow established processes or guidance; demonstrate compliance with Moody's policy and applicable law or regulations.Qualifications Undergraduate degree (e.g. bachelor's) and/or Graduate degree (e.g., MBA, Master's) in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.. Preferably 5 years' experience (with an Undergraduate degree) or 3 years' experience (with a Masters or equivalent degree) in structured finance credit analysis, and comprehensive knowledge of financial and fixed income markets. Strong Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) skills mandatory, strong statistical skills and ability to work with large data sets highly desired. Experience with programming (VBA, SQL, Python, R) a plus. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, and strong attention to detail Professional, proactive, flexible, diligent, and reliable, showing initiative sound judgment and highest ethical standards; Effective oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and contribute to a large and diverse team Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines Prior experience in Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs) or leveraged finance a plusFor US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$133,100 - [[$192,950, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
