Position Summary
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about marketing, branding, and effective communications with internal and external customers.
The selected candidate will work remote, with some travel required to our Huntsville office, conference locations, or other Trideum sites. The person in this role will be responsible for all marketing and communications functions from strategic planning and problem solving, to hands-on development of marketing materials. The right candidate for this position must have the ability to plan, manage, execute, and evaluate multiple ongoing efforts and ad hoc projects simultaneously while serving the needs of a broad range of internal customers. We are looking for a person who can work independently, requires little to no direction, can delegate tasks with authority and respect, and who will collaborate effectively with others acting as a team player.
The Director of Marketing and Communications role demands a highly experienced writer, graphic designer, and a detail-oriented project manager, with experience in brand development, management and growth. In addition, they will plan methods for determining ROI on marketing activities, track available data, and make recommendations to executive leadership regarding the impact of marketing activities on company growth.
What You'll Do
- Brand Management: Provide guidance and oversight for the company's brand including development and maintenance of brand guidelines for the company's approved logos, taglines, messaging statements, fonts, color palette, email signatures, and use of approved templates.
- Communications: Ensure that communications such as press releases, social media posts, brochures, messaging, and materials-both internal and external-are consistent with the company's mission, values, culture, and brand.
- Marketing Materials Development: Planning (including concept development), writing, designing and producing all marketing materials ensuring they are consistent with brand guidelines. This includes everything from business cards, ads, and brochures to trade show displays, logos, social media, Christmas cards (printed and digital), email blasts and other materials as needed.
- Briefings and Presentations: Preparing PowerPoint briefings for use at trade shows or customer meetings to include formatting of text, development of graphics, and application of the company's approved template, providing conformity and professionalism across all presentations.
- Business Development (BD) Support: Providing graphics, covers, templates, and design/development to assist BD staff with proposals or other needs.
- Tradeshow Conference planning and management: Scheduling and running meetings, managing expenses and budgets, tracking all planning activities, coordinating services with vendors, and communicating effectively with all stakeholders.
- Planning and management of video production projects including development of concepts for content, creating outlines, managing vendors, and assembling resources.
- Providing recommendations (and design if needed) for branded materials (SWAG), and appropriate art files for vendors for production. This includes wearables for employees (shirts, hats, etc.) as well as trade show gift items in a range of different price points, coins, lapel pins, and other items as needed.
- Production of company periodical publications (i.e .newsletters, spotlights): This includes collecting and managing input from multiple sources, editing content as needed, research or preparation of images, formatting and design.
- Website management and maintenance: Planning, developing, and implementing new content and graphics as necessary and developing programming requirements when needed. Managing the company's website content management system to keep software current. Managing the company's hosting account and domains. Manage periodic reviews of website content to keep the site current, coordinating with staff as appropriate.
- Intranet Content: Maintaining and managing corporate marketing page and assisting with content management of the company's Intranet site as needed.
- Social Media Management: Maintaining the company's online presence on multiple platforms. Creation of written content and graphics consistent with the company's brand, voice, and culture.
- Sponsorships: Vetting, managing, and tracking requirements for selected sponsorships
- Award nominations: Applying for and tracking industry and community awards to raise Trideum's profile with customers and prospects, potential job applicants, and the community as a whole.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship is required
- At least 20 years of experience in a senior marketing role
- Proven writing and communication skills with the ability to write and edit press releases, brochures, and social media posts
- Ability to plan and create processes, questionnaires, forms, and other tools to facilitate and streamline content development
- Experience in concept development and graphic design with the ability to produce professional quality brochures, publications, presentations, and other materials, while maintaining brand consistency.
- Ability to develop a variety of original graphics including infographics for visualizing complex concepts
- Experience creating functional templates in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
- Ability to travel occasionally to attend meetings or assist with managing trade show operations
- Desired knowledge of software and online platforms, to include:
- Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat
- Microsoft 365/Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint
- WordPress Content Management System
- Canva
- MailChimp
