Position Summary: We're looking for carpenters skilled in commercial construction As a carpenter, you will build, erect, install, and repair various structures and fixtures using hand and power tools on different types of commercial construction projects. Responsibilities: Construct, erect, install and repair various structures and fixtures using hand and power tools Study specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required Assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props using hand tools and various fasteners or fastener materials Build, repair or install door frames, doors, cabinets, paneling, millwork, hardware etc. using a variety of hand and power tools Bring proper hand tools for the job Follow and uphold established safety rules and regulations; maintain a safe and clean work environment Utilize proper PPE and safety equipment at all times Wear job-appropriate clothing and maintain a professional appearance Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required: General knowledge of standard methods, materials, and equipment utilized in carpentry work Good knowledge of occupational hazards and the associated safety precautions Skill in use and care of variety of hand and power tools Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time as required by work assignments Ability to understand verbal and written instructions Proactive mindset with the ability to envision all steps in assigned tasks Ability to execute tasks efficiently Strong communication skills with the ability to correspond in an effective and professional manner using written or verbal communication Ability to work in a team environment Ability to use a smartphone efficiently Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience as a carpenter, 5 years of experience preferred OSHA-10 certification Journeyman carpenter preferred Benefits and Company Perks: Weekly paycheck Company provided apparel and power tools Paid Holidays Company provided iPhone Flat hierarchy, EOS-led, open culture, encouragement of individual growth Regular company and team outings 6-Time "Best Places to Work" by Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2023) 5-Time "Top 150 Workplaces" by Minneapolis Star Tribune (2018, 2019, 2021, 2023) Ranked 1 in "Top Workplace in Construction" by Star Tribune (2023) 3-Time "Best Workplace" by Inc Magazine (2020, 2022, 2023) "Best Places to Work" by Milwaukee Business Journal (2020) Pre-Employment Screening: Drug screen and background check required. Physical Demands: You will be required to safely walk, stand, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, see and hear. You must be able to safely operate a variety of machinery and equipment including but not limited to table saws, drill presses, hammers, saws, planers, ladders, tape measures, etc. You will be required to regularly execute repetitive movements. You will be required to regularly lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects (up to 50lbs). You will be required to climb and maneuver on ladders, scaffolding, and/or in tight spaces. You will be required to sustain physical exertion for extended periods of time. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, you may be exposed to outside weather conditions at job sites, including wet and/or humid conditions, cold and heat. For renovation work, hazardous material or conditions may be present in the existing building. Noise level at these sites may be unusually loud at times. Job sites are typically dusty.
