Role & Reporting Structure Role: Development & Operations Manager (DOM) Status: Full-Time (Exempt) Reports to: Chief Operations & Development Officer Summary We seek a passionate and experienced Development and Operations Manager who will be responsible for a range of responsibilities and can manage two distinct functions in a seamless and organized manner. This person will help support and drive fundraising efforts through donor database management, grant writing, donor cultivation, stewardship activities, and event support. Additionally, this role will share their time in supporting operational functions of the organization from company policies, budgeting, expense tracking and reimbursement approval workflows, employee onboarding and systems set up, subscriptions and monthly contracts, and certificate of insurance requests for programs and events. As a member of the ACS team, the Development and Operations Manager will play a key role in transforming the lives of individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments through sports while also helping lead the Paralympic Movement. Development Responsibilities Grant Management: Research, Identification, Proposal Development, Tracking, Reporting, Stewarding Work with Chief Operations and Development Officer to identify funding opportunities or program/adaptive equipment needs through grants. Manage and track grants through donor database for reporting internally for staff and Board. Constituent/Donor/Volunteer Database Management (Angel City Sports uses Virtuous and VOMO) Work closely with year-round sport coaches and Program Coordinator to gather data and prepare grant proposal and reports. Support the Chief Operations and Development Officer with sport engagement opportunities tied to donor relationships: corporations, associations, and civic organizations, foundations. Operations Responsibilities Process improvements: Making sure tasks are completed on time and efficient procedures are in play to complete functions and tasks. Policy implementation: Developing and implementing policies and procedures to help the organization achieve its goals. Performance measurement: Constantly monitoring operations to improve efficiency and quality and implementing employee performance metrics and process. Forecasting: Helping the team keep up with budgets, annual plans, and goals. Recruitment: Hiring new staff and onboarding them. Problem solving: Identifying and resolving workplace issues. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferably in writing or organizational management. At least 1-2 years of experience in grant management, including research, proposal development, tracking, reporting, and stewarding. Minimum of 2 years of experience in operational roles with responsibilities in process improvements, policy implementation, and performance measurement. Strong computer skills and proficient with Microsoft Office including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong experience with and/or aptitude for managing donor databases. Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed for special events. Core Competencies Excellent organizational skills with the ability to be decisive and adaptable. Strong interpersonal skills including experience building and maintaining relationships with a diverse network of individuals (athletes, volunteers, sponsors, donors) and partner organizations (sponsors, NGO and programming, facilities, and non-profits) Ability to self-manage and manage others, prioritize work assignments, and manage multiple deadlines. Detail oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage and lead others with different responsibilities supporting one common event and mission. Self-motivated; creative, innovative, enthusiastic, and willing to learn. Physical Demands and Work Environment Work is performed in a standard office environment at least 2 days per week, with the remaining days optional to work from home. The in-office schedule for ACS staff is evolving and subject to change. The position will require working some nights and weekends. Moves 25 pounds from supplies, sports equipment, etc. if needed.
