Be a Star at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts The Systems Administrator I is responsible for the overall availability and operation of IT systems during peak usage to ensure maximum uptime while minimizing business impacts. This position provides users with guidance and support by taking ownership of various problem resolutions and acts as a key contact for on-site and remote users for desktop problems and inquiries. Work involves providing technical assistance and support for applications, software, and hardware problems. Located in downtown Tampa, the 335,000 square-foot Straz Center, one of the largest performing arts complexes in the country, offers a team-based work environment that shows our dedication to the community every day. Essential Functions: Help Desk Install, support, troubleshoot and repair various hardware and software including workstations, laptops, business applications, networking equipment, and peripheral components. Provide courteous, desktop support for users via phone or one-on-one desktop assistance. Utilize a help desk system to track document issues and provide updates according to our internal service level agreements. Provide coordination, planning and scheduling for the installation, update and removal of hardware, software and equipment. Provide basic phone system support. Creates new users in the Active Directory/Office365 Environment and assists in training end users on hardware, software, telecom, and help desk system. Assist with the coordination of presentation software and hardware. Repair and run new network cabling; assist with Wi-Fi analysis and troubleshooting. Participate in the on-call rotation with the other members of the IT team which includes evenings and weekends. Data Security and Risk Mitigation Maintains a proactive patching, upgrading, and maintenance cycle on physical networks, desktop and laptop computers, servers, operating systems, 3rd party applications, phone systems, firewalls, switches, and routers to reduce the organization's risk. Supports the development of annual risk assessments, as well as maintaining the substantial number of existing risk assessments related to compliance, security, and technology. Assists in maintaining the organization's data security program. Assists with departmental and organizational Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning. Performs routine data backup testing. Follows change control procedures for all system and user configurations. System Administration and Operational Support Performs hardware and software installation and maintenance as required for organizational operation. Resolves system errors or failures. Identifies system problems and implements corrective actions. Addresses problems in hardware, software, and procedures. Follows change control procedures for all system and user configurations. Other Ensures guests receive superior service. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: In-depth working knowledge of the Microsoft server operating systems. Experience utilizing PowerShell for configuration. Experience in maintaining Hypervisors such as VMware / Hyper-V. Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, AWS, Azure. Experience with a variety of network infrastructure hardware, including Switching and Firewalls. Experience with VoIP / Telephony. Troubleshooting skills and deductive reasoning sufficient to gather relevant symptoms, deduce probable cause, research information sources, as necessary, and resolve the problem in the minimum amount of time. Excellent interpersonal communication skills to foster relationships with the staff at all levels of the organization. Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees within the organization, as well as strategic vendors and business partners outside of the organization. Ability to meet deadlines and provide accurate information in a timely manner. Ability to effectively manage many projects simultaneously and demonstrate good judgment and maturity in decision making. Working knowledge of design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of a complex IT infrastructure including IaaS. Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, preferred Minimum of three years of relevant experience. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
