Job Description All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years . On-site presence will be as required by the FAA. An exciting opportunity for a Computer Scientist (system administrator) to support system maintenance, integration, and installation of multiple complex computer systems for NAS Enterprise Services- Infrastructure Team. Essential Job Functions: Multitask on the following: Upgrade multiple enterprise systems simultaneously: Vmware, Redhat products or COTS products. Maintain complex applications in Linux environment (VMs or containers/Kubernetes). Work on various system configuration and maintenance: (Active directory, Redhat, Cisco, hardware, Splunk client, Tanium client). Some system automation using Ansible, Perl, Bash, power shells, Windows services. Work collaboratively with a team or as an individual on assigned projects to meet multiple deadlines and deliverables. Second level support for deployment and field issues. Work Environment and Physical Demands: Limited travel Full-time position, flexible work schedule Requirements Experience with Windows, VMware, Linux/Unix environment system administration Experience with networking configuration Experience with hardware setup Experience with tools/ scripting languages for system automation such power shell, ansible, bash Excellent communication Able to multitask and work on multiple systems to meet tight deadlines Preferred (Any of the following is preferred but not required) : Experience with Tanium client, Splunk client or Tripwire Experience with containers: Kubernetes or Openshift Experience with network configuration (Cisco/Firewall/load balancer setup, Active Directory integration, versioning tools (git/svn)) Experience in the configuration and maintenance of enterprise storage solutions (e.g. Netapp) Knowledge and familiarity with with security administration of networked components to a defined baseline standard (NIST, CIS, STIG, FISMA) Education/Experience From a college or university accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor’s degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and twenty (20) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field OR Master’s Degree in any field of study with a minimum thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and sixteen (16) years related work experience in a computer science or math field. OR PhD or Doctorial in a related field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and six (6) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field.
