Our client is looking to hire up to two temporary IT Professional staff to assist in IT Desktop Provisioning until full-time employees are hired. As part of the new employee onboarding and new equipment process, the Desktop Provisioning position works closely with Service Center concierges, service desk, IT Asset Management and System & Software deployment staff to ensure the customer receives a stable and reliable desktop computing device build. By using various Hennepin County Systems, this position oversees the daily activities related to the imaging of Desktop computing equipment and provisioning of related peripherals. Finally, this position assists customers by providing warranty hardware support under the guidelines of a Self-Maintainer program. This engagement is to augment existing staff with two professional temporary staff via consultant talent services programs. 2. Work to be performed This role will facilitate any requests for service that would include planning, scheduling, and communication of MAC (Move, Add, and Changes), New/Change onboarding, New Computer Equipment, Offboarding employees, Liaison with PMO on non-standard requests, Liaison with Facilities Coordinator on moves, etc. by working on assigned service requests. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervisor may designate various activities to this position. Desktop Equipment Provisioning: Stage desktop and laptop equipment using various tools and technologies to a base customer pre-provisioning state. Assist customers who request additional service with installation of LOB applications based on software role for associated area. Assist customers with scheduled deployment services as part of project coordination. Pull appropriate equipment from stock, package equipment, label for shipping, and coordinate with Central Services on delivery of equipment when appropriate. Assist with staging equipment for reuse by setting back to factory defaults for future provisioning. Assist with new employee onboarding and offboarding processes as it relates to equipment provisioning. Assist with staging, packaging, and distribution of employee desktop equipment to Hennepin County Staff, employees, volunteers, and other staff doing business as or for Hennepin County. Assist in proper disposal and preparation of IT assets for reuse or disposal. Image laptop/desktop, help HC users with laptop/desktop issues, replace defective monitors, assist staff with documentation and processing of retired equipment and distributing replacement equipment, process equipment for re-use, and hardware modification of laptops and desktops. Self-Maintainer Warranty Support (Desktop Equipment): Work with Customers and other support staff to troubleshoot, diagnosis, and replace warranty parts on desktop equipment as needed. Coordinate with warranty supplier the ordering, delivery, and replacement of warranty part leverage appropriate tools defined by the manufacturer. Providing service and support for PCs and laptops for the Hennepin County Government Center and remote facilities throughout Hennepin County. Performs or Coordinates Warranty repairs with no cost of parts to Hennepin County Performs or Coordinates Non-Warranty repairs, cost estimate must be provided to Hennepin County with approval to proceed with repair/replacement prior to work commencing. Asset Management: Maintain appropriate levels of in-stock inventory for future use by implementing a FIFO (First in, First Out) approach. Receiving and tagging of equipment. Auditing and inventory of ITAM assets. Entering asset information into asset tracking software system. Ensure line items of the purchase order with the packing slip and ensuring the quality of the materials received. Responsible for shipping defective equipment to vendor and arranging replacement. Research products and equipment; prepare product/equipment specifications. Assist with updating and maintaining inventories for all equipment and supplies including location, asset tag number serial number make and model of equipment. Coordinate equipment installation and maintenance as needed. Identify future opportunities for savings and/or process improvements that help eliminate wastes. Asset Disposal: Receive and process assets that are designated to be decommissioned ensuring all appropriate inventory data is captured and updated in the hardware AMDB (Asset Management Database). Organize and maintain incoming inventory, current inventory, and outgoing inventory by stocking material neatly in designated areas. Manage data media per company policy; ensure security and data sanitation procedures are always followed. Process hard drives by testing and preforming data erasure and wiping or shredding per standards and processes. Perform general housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and picking up trash to maintain a clean and tidy workspace. Perform de-manufacturing tasks that include sorting, testing, refurbishment, assembly of products (this includes, but is not limited to cleaning; fixing scratches, dents, and dings; replacing covers and face plates). Assist with preparing and packaging of resalable equipment per company procedure and 3rd party requirements. Maintain and inventory final disposition asset records of disposed devices and ensure all inventory data is captured and updated in the hardware AMDB (Asset Management Database) Other duties as assigned.
