Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform work in the design, installation, construction, modification, repair and maintenance of electrical installations, equipment and systems; Perform related work as required; Inspect, isolate, troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions parts using various test instruments, test and make adjustments; Work on programmable lighting and access systems; Test electrical equipment for safety and efficiency; Plan the layout and wiring of new or remodeled installations; inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations; Inspect related work performed by contractors; estimate cost, time and materials for electrical projects; Participate in the maintenance and operations of an electrical shop; Clean, maintain and service tools and equipment used in the performance of duties; Be able to work on weekends, holidays, days and nights; Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities. Set the example for others by demonstrating adherence to safety rules, procedures, policies and GMPs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, maintain and repair or replace complex automatic controls, transformers, motor control centers, PLC’s and VFD’s, electric motors and power distribution systems, including transformers, motor starters, switchgear etc.; Install and adjust settings on ASI system (Controllers, address valves, install ASI cables, Install ASI connectors, etc.); Repair and rebuild smart valves and control valves; Install and adjust settings on instruments like flow meters, conductivity transmitter, level transmitter, temperature transmitter; Installation of electrical conduits and wires; Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains electrical systems including electric motors, electric controls, fire alarms, and clock systems; Install, troubleshoots and repairs new equipment and systems, including all plant lights and programmable lighting controls. Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service. May train and direct the work of other classified staff in the area.
TRAINING, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely; Assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical apparatuses; Estimate cost, time and materials of electrical work; Analyze and respond safely and appropriately to emergency situations; Perform preventive maintenance on switch gears and transformers; Read and comprehend plans and blueprints as appropriate to trade; Perform heavy physical labor; Follow and give oral and written instructions; maintain cooperative working relationships; Demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population. Ability to complete the following trainings as required: forklift operation certification, lock out tag out, fall arrest, confined space, ladder safety, emergency evacuation, in-house OSHA. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Vocational School or some electric technical college courses; Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Electrical & Instrumentation field, equivalent formal training plus experience, or equivalent related experience; Trade school apprenticeship program that includes theory and on-the-job work; Follow drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, and schematics, as also Be able to read and understand Technical Manuals; Have basic knowledge or PC’s, printers and associated software (Windows, Word, Excel, etc.)
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operate other equipment when necessary like as men lift, scissor lift and forklift. Learn to perform other jobs in the functional area. Participate in CCJ Safety and Quality Program.
EQUIPMENT
Regular maintenance insulated tools like wrenches, pliers, screw drivers; Electric hand tools like grinder, muilt tool, oscillating saw, drill, thread machine; Pipe bender, electrical meters, Altek 4-20mA, Megger, ladders.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is done indoors and outdoors. Mobility to all areas and systems. Requires exposure to hot temperature, high noise levels, wetness, vibrations, dust, moving equipment, heights, fumes, etc.; All PPE and uniform are supplied by Cutrale; Work is performed on rotating shifts working hours, night/day; Schedule is released weekly. Employee needs to be flexible with working extended hours when required.
