Our work depends on an IT Cloud Systems/VDI Engineer joining our highly skilled team to be a premier provider of high speed VDI solutions and cloud platform services to meet our customers computing needs. HOW IT CLOUD SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Deploy cloud based VDI across multiple cloud providers. Enhance performance of all VDI to include Citrix, AVD, and AWS Workspaces. Develop and manage image and software offerings for cloud hosted VDI. Integrate VDI solutions with existing infrastructure. Coordinating with technical teams responsible for cloud hosting infrastructures in order to establish and maintain the environments used by the program for the development, test, and deployment of the demonstration capability and the final production system. Deployment of large-scale environments via infrastructure as code. Rapid prototyping to refine system requirements and technical specifications of the system and its operating environments. Review and Maintain environments at the latest security posture. Environment layout and configuration maintenance to industry standards and best practices. Remediate app/package installations. Knowledge of infrastructure as code design, management, and version control techniques. Exposure to project management skills and/or project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, etc. Knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies. Build, migrate and test AWS & Azure cloud environments and integrations. Develop templates or scripts to automate everyday developer or operations functions. Build new automation to expand and maintain cloud hosting. Monitor and maintain multiple cloud infrastructure environments based on client requirements. Identify new tools and processes to improve the cloud platforms. Collaborate with remote team members to build and maintain positive, productive team relationships. As this program matures, this role may require occasional on-call after-hours support. Development of technical documentation and briefing materials to support program status reviews, control gates, and other presentations as directed by program management. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Education: Bachelors (Computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline) Required Experience: 5 yrs Security Clearance Level: Secret Required Technical Skills: Experience with VDI solutions both on prem and cloud native i.e. Citrix/AVD/Workspaces Linux/Unix systems administration Windows Server Administration Identity and Access Management AWS CloudFormation Large scale system integration Experience in cloud application (Azure/AWS) architecture Experience in developing enterprise and solution-level architectural designs Confidence and experience with AWS CloudFormation, Terraform and Ansible Strong communication and documentation skills Technical experience with large scale system integration Desired Skills: Cloud certifications Citrix certifications Experience with ARM, BICEP, and Azure automation Developing enterprise and solution-level architectural designs Citrix VDI on premise/Cloud deployment Azure virtual Desktop AWS Workspaces JIRA, Confluence and other project management tools GDIT IS YOUR PLACE: 401K with company match. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
