MOREHEAD CITY MARLINS - INTERNSHIP - SUMMER 2025 FOCUS: Operations Internship The Morehead City Marlins (mhcmarlins.com) are one of the most successful teams in the Coastal Plain League which provides collegiate players the opportunity to play competitively in a wood-bat league during the summer months in front of professional scouts, while also providing the local community with an affordable summer entertainment destination everyone can enjoy. The Marlins play at Big Rock Stadium which is undergoing renovations this off season for the 2025 season. The Marlins organization has developed an intensive internship program that prepares its participants for a career in sports. Students who intern with the Marlins immediately become part of the game day staff, learning the different aspects of stadium operations, fan assistance, ticket sales and marketing in a fast-paced environment. We help our interns succeed in their educational and career objectives by preparing for and learning from actual situations our staff encounters at the ballpark which are discussed and experienced daily. While interns will be involved in all aspect of team and stadium operations, we are seeking a small number of individuals for a game entertainment focused experience that will provide you the opportunity to learn and develop your communication, marketing, game presentation, customer service and organizational skills. Here's what we're looking for in an ideal candidate: • Start date May 12th through approximatively August 12th. o Can be adjusted. • Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week. • Must work all 26 home games and potential playoff games during the 2025 season. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Stadium and Field Operations: • Assist with stadium setup and preparation on game days, including setting up seating areas, concession stands, and locker room. • Work closely with the field maintenance crew to ensure the playing surface is game-ready, including mowing, infield, prep, watering, and more. • Help manage and maintain the cleanliness and functionality of all facilities within the stadium, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for fans. • Support game-day operations, including tickets, fan engagement, and post-game cleanup. • Coordinate with team staff on special projects and promotional events to enhance the fan experience. • Assist in the breakdown and storage of equipment after games and events. Locker Room and Equipment Responsibilities: • Ensure locker room cleanliness and tidiness for both players and coaches 'staff before and after games, including trash disposal and organizing personal items. • Manage the distribution, collection, and laundering of uniforms for players and coaching staff. • Organize and maintain the coaches' office, ensuring all equipment and personal items are stored appropriately. • Assist in the maintenance and organization of team equipment and supplies, ensuring everything is ready for practice and games.
