Our family of companies support industry leaders in: hotels & resorts, senior living facilities, hospitals & medical facilities, event venues, restaurants, convention centers and stadiums, colleges & universities, manufacturing & production facilities, and more We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Dining Services to oversee dining operations at our clients senior living facailities located in Valhalla, NY area. This is a a high-end life-plan community, serving residents in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing. The Director of Dining Services will lead a team of managers, including an Executive Chef, Food Service Manager, and Dining Room Manager, to ensure excellence in food quality, presentation, and service. This role requires a strong balance of culinary expertise, managerial experience, and financial acumen to meet high standards in resident satisfaction and maintain budgetary goals. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Management: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the dining services team, ensuring high standards in food quality, service, and hospitality. Lead, coach, and mentor a team that includes the Executive Chef, Food Service Manager, and Dining Room Manager. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that supports the community's mission and values. Ensure staff is properly trained on service standards, safety protocols, and resident interaction. Resident Experience: Ensure a superior dining experience across all levels of care, tailoring offerings to meet resident preferences and dietary needs. Actively engage with residents to assess and improve dining satisfaction; conduct regular feedback sessions to address concerns or preferences. Develop and maintain service standards that align with a high-end dining experience. Operational Excellence & Compliance: Oversee day-to-day operations of all dining areas, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards. Manage inventory and procurement to maintain quality while minimizing waste and costs. Implement best practices for kitchen operations, cleanliness, and staff safety. Financial Management: Develop and manage the dining services budget, tracking expenses to achieve financial goals. Analyze financial reports and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or service. Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop menus that balance cost-effectiveness with appeal and nutritional value. Special Events & Programming: Coordinate and oversee special dining events, holiday programs, and themed menus, enhancing the resident experience. Collaborate with other departments to support community-wide events and initiatives. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in dining services, preferably within senior living, healthcare, or high-end hospitality settings. Proven ability to lead and develop a diverse team in a dynamic, resident-centered environment. Strong budgetary, financial, and operational management skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with residents, staff, and families. Work Requirements: Ability to work weekends as needed and alternate major holidays. Flexibility to address community needs and adapt to a dynamic schedule.
