CFS is partnering with a repeat client, a local non profit committed to assisting individuals with obtaining affordable housing. Currently, they are looking to add a Senior Staff Accountant to their accounting team on a contract to hire basis to work from their Annapolis office!
This Senior Staff Accountant role will begin on a contractual basis for the selected candidate. Opportunity for permanent hire depending on performance and fit!

This position is in office 100% in Annapolis, MD. ***** Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm. No remote flexibility.
Reports to the CFO
Annual salary starting at $75,000

Job Duties for the Senior Staff *****
Coordinate the day-to-day financial operations of the Corporations finance management system, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger posting and payroll posting.
Assign and instruct daily workload of the accounting staff engaged in general accounting activities.
Review and approve weekly accounts payable invoices for processing.
Prepare and post monthly implementation fees accounting system
Prepare journal entries to post accounting distributions for fully burdened payroll costs.
Record, track and reconcile assigned properties in the financial management system.
Close the books on a quarterly basis and prepare required journal entries including posting depreciation expense, indirect cost allocation costs.
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
Prepare quarterly interim financial statements including the profit and loss statements and Statement of Financial Position (Balance Sheet) for review.
Compile accurate financial reports required by management and grantors.
Assist with establishing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable grant regulations.
Prepare schedules and supporting documents for the annual audit, grantee performance report (GPR), and other annual accounting reports.
Perform other related essential duties as required.
Qualifications for the Senior Staff *****
5+ years accounting experience required
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related required
Proficiency with Excel and Word required
Must have a good understanding of how to do a balance sheet
Experience using Abila MIP a plus!
Strong GAAP knowledge, analytical and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
