Supermicro is looking for a highly technical
Sr. Design Director to lead our Switch team . In this role, you will lead and form the Design team to drive the development and improvement of our Switch products, collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product management teams to provide technical direction and guidance to ensure the market competitiveness of in-house solution design. This role will be responsible for managing the overall engineering execution from specification, design, verification, and physical implementation of the Switch product line and lead internal teams in both customization and/or design processes. This position will be based in our headquarters located in San Jose, CA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Experience leading Switch design of servers from specification to ramp. Strong engineering background in Switch design including broad knowledge of Hardware/Firmware/Software design. Experienced in building (including recruiting and interviewing) development teams. Understanding of development design flows. Ability to influence and drive alignment across multiple teams. Collaborative team player; passionate about team’s mission. Must have experience working with and leading geographically dispersed design teams. Proven customer interface skills to contribute to the definition process and support the design-in process for lead customers. Ability to translate organization strategy into actionable/executable plans. Capable of executing personnel management responsibilities, including career development and staff planning. Defines, leads, and provides creative servers and solutions, and overcomes constraints to meet customer requirements. Organizes technical resources within the organization to address client needs, when necessary. Understands and resolves challenges by collaborating with internal business partners and technical members. Provides solutions and products overview training to internal organizations, partners, and customers. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or related field of study. Master or advanced degree in electrical engineering or computer science or engineering preferred. 17+ years of work experience in related field, with 10+ years in management is highly preferred. Strong technical, organizational, planning, and presentational skills. Solid interpersonal (written and verbal communication) and project management skills, able to influence and lead dynamic groups in a corporate environment efficiently. In-depth knowledge in server systems and solutions, able to influence and recommend customers with the optimized solutions and provide internal teams on technical directions. Salary Range
$239,000 - $292,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs. EEO Statement
