About this role: The supply chain function at Carrier is responsible for a global spend of $9.5B across 16 manufacturing sites globally. The function is focused on end-to-end supply chain management across designing, planning, sourcing, purchasing, materials management, and logistics. Supply chain is focused on driving digitally enabled and data-led processes. Capabilities and impact to the business are measured through a balanced scorecard focused on innovation, agility, affordability, and availability. Position:
Associate Director Commodity Management and Sourcing, Electro-Mechanical This role provides category leadership with a goal to drive resiliency, productivity, and ESG improvements. The role will create solutions to drive advanced financial analytics, negotiation processes, and negotiations execution for all contracts. The Associate Director owns the vendor performance management and metrics as a general manager of the category. This position can be located at one of the Carrier offices including Palm Beach Gardens, Charlotte, Atlanta, or Indianapolis. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for building short and long-term category strategy to ensure operational efficiencies to take advantage of negotiated terms. Owns contract negotiations and drives key metrics for spend under contract. Develops strong Carrier Alliance partnerships with key suppliers. Organizes quarterly business reviews with key suppliers to drive supplier accountability. Reviews supplier financial health/risk dashboard for publicly available data and develops resiliency plans. Responsible for publishing the preferred supplier list developed through categorization and supplier segmentation. Ability to manage cross-functional global team executing various supply chain strategies. Develop and implement category strategy which optimizes affordability, availability, agility, and innovation. Leverage understanding of technical industry, sourcing concepts, and lean tools to ensure parts are delivered on time at best cost and quality. Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective components, competitors, and product innovations. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. 10+ years’ experience in sourcing environment and industrial operations. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, finance, or business. MBA or professional certifications (CPM, CPSM, CIRM, CPIM). Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Experience with strategic sourcing and lean tools. Digital dexterity and ability to leverage data.
