SET THE COURSE

The VP is the strategic leader and creative visionary for Tommy Bahama’s swim and resort wear. This position is instrumental in helping grow the overall women’s swim business through strong leadership, business acumen and creative voice. Responsibilities include presentations to key leaders, building, managing, and inspiring the design team. Collaborating with key cross-functional partners in the business to inspire a seasonal theme and collection, including work with creative and marketing to tell a lifestyle story for our omni-channel brand. Developing department standards and processes, training and development of staff, while maintaining operational excellence.

BE THE ISLAND GUIDE

Oversees the women’s swim and resort wear design team to continue to build this exciting growth category. Sets the creative vision for the design, development and sourcing team to execute. Manages the seasonal color palette creation while working closely with SVP of Men’s, VP of Women’s and merchant partners to align on and approve color and flow. Oversees the print design team and determines print selection, flow, colorways and insures on time and clean handoff. Selects dual gender prints for seasonal storytelling with men’s counterpart. Partners closely with swim merchant team to set seasonal strategy and identify growth opportunities and analyzes sales data to chase best seller for future seasons. Insures wholesale teams needs are met for key accounts and special make ups. Drives team to adhere to strict development timelines meeting all milestone objectives. Prepares for, and runs, all product presentations to the cross functional team. Works closely with sourcing and materials team to continually innovate in fabric, fit, details and quality. Partners with Product development to understand costing, build margin rich product and resolve production issues. Plans and monitors design budget in alignment with company goals. Exercises sound fiscal judgement. Uses Customer centric focus to continue to surprise and delight the guest. Manages, mentors, prioritizes, develops and inspires creativity within the design team.

Essentials For Life In Paradise

Degree in Fashion Design, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). 15+ years plus in the design field. 8+ years management experience. Keen eye and ability to translate global trends into brand appropriate product. Ability to inspire and lead team to continuously deliver amazing product. Understanding of organization development. Advanced presentation skills, ability to present lines to cross functional teams. Expert level of knowledge of design industry, design process, fabrication processes, and manufacturing all are essential to this position. Must be able to communicate the big picture, while supporting the details of the business from design through production. Must be able to coach and lead teams. Operational understanding of calendar and deadlines so the production is delivered on time and as expected.

Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role, including an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skillset, as well as work location and available budget.

Rate Range: $155,000 to $225,000
