The Head of U.S. Petcare Brand Communications is responsible for the strategy, planning, and execution of communications for the U.S. Petcare product portfolio and brands. This role is a member of the U.S. Petcare leadership team and reports to the Head of U.S. Commercial Operations Communications. This is a 6-month contract position, hybrid in Parsippany, NJ. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute proactive communications plans for key products and portfolios in collaboration with marketing teams to build awareness and support business objectives. Align brand communications with overall messaging for the Petcare division and corporate identity. Manage media relations for brands in coordination with corporate media colleagues. Lead pet owner crisis communications for U.S. pet care product issues. Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing and communications counterparts, to ensure consistency across programs and initiatives. Oversee agency and partner management within the brand marketing framework. Qualifications and Skills: Proven ability to lead communications at both strategic and tactical levels. Strong advisory skills to influence business decisions and drive alignment across functions. Capability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency. Innovative problem-solving skills with a focus on achieving business outcomes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex information. Proficiency in managing agencies and fostering collaborative relationships across functions and levels. Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, or a related field. A master’s degree or additional certifications in communications is a plus. 8-12 years of experience in internal and external brand communications within a large organization, preferably in animal health or pharmaceuticals. Proven track record in developing and implementing strategic communication plans. Experience in B2B2C communication and partner/agency relationship management.
