Position description The Vu lab at the Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging is looking for a researcher who is interested in a professional researcher position at UCSF. This position is for an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professional Researcher. The responsibilities include developing and maintaining advanced 3T & 7T MRI technologies at SFVAHCS and UCSF, developing data preprocessing and analysis pipelines to evaluate the MRI technology and their applications in patient and healthy control populations, advising and assisting investigators, collaborators, and students in utilizing the advanced MRI technology and data analysis pipelines, seeking out new funding opportunities and helping to write grants and proposals, writing manuscripts and abstracts, and giving presentations at professional meetings. Required Qualifications: Appointees in the Professional Research series must possess a doctorate or its equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: PhD or its equivalent in Physics, Bioengineering, Neuroscience, or related fields Completion of post-doctoral fellowship 5 years of MRI research experience 3T and 7T MRI preprocessing and data analysis experience Experience in fMRI task stimulus design and execution Track record of independent research Experience in Matlab, Python, and Linux-based command line operations Excellent teamwork, time management and organizational skills Considerable experience in scientific writing: must be able to provide examples of material that the applicant has written including papers, reviews, grant applications See Table 13B for the salary range for this position.
