Job Title: Director, International Tax Reports To: VP, Tax Location: Wilmington, Delaware Job Title/High-Level Position Summary: The Director, International Tax plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all aspects of international taxation and transfer pricing strategies for the company. This leadership position requires a thorough understanding of global tax regulations, transfer pricing principles, and a strategic mindset to optimize the company's international tax positions while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Tax Strategy Development:
Develop and implement comprehensive international tax strategies aligned with the company's global business objectives. Analyze international tax implications of various business operations, including cross-border transactions, acquisitions, and divestitures.
Transfer Pricing Management:
Lead and manage the development, documentation, and execution of transfer pricing policies in compliance with local regulations and OECD guidelines. Ensure that intercompany transactions are appropriately priced to reflect arm's length principles, minimize tax exposure, and mitigate transfer pricing risks.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess international tax risks and opportunities, providing strategic recommendations to senior management. Develop and implement strategies to manage and mitigate potential tax controversies and audits related to international operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, finance, accounting, and business units to ensure alignment of international tax and transfer pricing strategies with overall business objectives. Provide guidance on structuring transactions, supply chains, and business operations to optimize tax efficiency.
Compliance and Reporting:
Oversee international tax compliance, including the preparation and review of complex international tax returns, forms, and disclosures. Ensure accurate and timely filing of transfer pricing documentation in accordance with local regulations.
Policy and Regulatory Monitoring:
Stay updated on changes in international tax laws, regulations, and OECD guidelines to ensure ongoing compliance and identification of planning opportunities. Evaluate the impact of potential legislative changes on the company's international tax and transfer pricing strategies.
Leadership and Team Management:
Build and lead a high-performing international tax and transfer pricing team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate complex international tax and transfer pricing concepts to non-tax stakeholders and senior management, facilitating informed decision-making. Represent the company in interactions with tax authorities, auditors, and external advisors.
Minimum Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master's degree, CPA or JD preferred. 8 years of experience in international tax and transfer pricing within a multinational corporation or leading consulting firm. Desired Characteristics: In-depth knowledge of international tax laws, treaties, transfer pricing guidelines, and global taxation trends. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to business scenarios. Proven experience in managing and leading cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical tax concepts to non-experts.
