Certification Details BLS - Basic Life Support NIHSS - NIH Stroke Scale Job Details Position / Specialty: Med Surg Neuro RN Shift: 4x12 Nights (1800-0630) Avg. Daily Census: 32 Years of experience REQ: Minimum 2 years' experience required. First-timers accepted: No Weekend REQ: Will work every other weekend. Certs REQ: BLS and NIHSS required. Is on-call REQ? No Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Will float as needed. Open to accommodating block schedule? Discuss schedule requests with manager. Locals accepted: Yes- no radius. Pending License accepted: No- must have active IL license to apply. RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days. Guaranteed Hours: Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours. Job Requirements Required Work Setting Experience: Med/Surg. Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills/Experience: Telemetry- remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams. Required Gastrointestinal Case Skills/Experience: Colostomy care, Feeding tube care and management. Required IV therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs. Required Medication Experience: Heparin, Insulin, PCA. Required Neurological/Psychiatric Case Skills/Experience: CVA, Pre/Post Neuro Surgery, Spinal cord injuries, Traumatic Brain injury. Experience with Surgical drains required. Required Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, CPAP/BiPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oral suctioning, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Pre/Post Thoracic Surgery, Tracheostomy Management. Required Professional Knowledge and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac. Continuous Bladder Irrigation experience required. Cerner experience required. Teaching Hospital Experience Preferred. Trauma Level II Experience Preferred. Schedule Information Shift: 4x12 Nights (1800-0630) Weekend REQ: Will work every other weekend. NIHSS - Required. HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement - Required. NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) - Required. Physical Exam - Required within a year of start. Flu Vaccine or approved Medical/Religious Exemption required October 1 – April 1.
