Come join our research team focused on improving maternal mental health! We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish-English) individual for our Study Coordinator position for a funded and active NIH / NINR implementation research project. The project, titled Prevention of Perinatal Depression among at-risk Individuals through Integration of a Multimedia, Web-based Intervention within the Healthcare System is a 3-year project for which our team will evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of integrating a remote-access perinatal depression prevention program within a healthcare system and embedded in the existing web-based patient portal. We are also evaluating systems and strategies that link intervention determinants, including sociocultural determinants, with implementation outcomes in Latino, underserved (rural), and urban populations.

The Study Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating day to day administrative functions to ensure tasks and deadlines are met throughout each phase of the study. They will assist in the preparation of reports, and IRB submissions, maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies, and assist with the preparation of manuscripts for the dissemination of study results. The Study Coordinator will also help facilitate communications among stakeholders and various project sites.
This is a grant funded position that is currently funded through August 2025.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Demonstrate bilingual fluency in written and spoken Spanish.
Develop an outreach list to the Hispanic/Latino community of Salt Lake City County, determining how and how often contact will be made with community partners.
Visit University of Utah Health clinics and promote the MaMa study to clinicians and clinic staff.
Assists team with the following activities: maintaining compliance to protocol; managing quality control, completion and submission of study related documentation; preparing reports for organizations and agencies.
In conjunction with the team, monitors enrollment goals and initiates strategies to promote enrollment and participant compliance. Assists with the coordination and related responsibilities involving research participants, including determining subject population availability, using informed consents and screening materials, screening and recruiting subjects, scheduling visits, obtaining informed consent, answering subject inquiries, overseeing study visits and acting as a liaison between participants and study-related parties.
Recognizes, tracks and reports adverse events and protocol deviations.
Assists team with the preparation for and coordination of site visits made by sponsors or federal agencies during course and at the close of the study.
In conjunction with the team’s activities, represents the research program at meetings, national and international research consortia.
Assists in the preparation, submission and maintenance in of IRB , NIH , and/or other regulatory documents and research correspondence.
Contributes to developing educational materials and educates the community and other research professionals regarding studies and related research issues.
Coordinates with referring healthcare providers to provide information regarding available research projects and to maintain a strong referral basis.
Assists with the development and maintenance of patient databases, investigational logs and records of activities to be monitored and/or procedures followed.
Obtains CITI training and GCP immediately after hire.
Assists the Principal Investigator in the development and modification of study protocols.
May maintain contact with IRB and prepare and submit IRB documents. May ensure proper collection, processing and shipment of specimens. May perform functions required of the Clinical Research Assistant as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. IRB CITI Course in the Protection of Human Research subjects certificate obtained within six months of hire and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.
Some departments may require IATA DGR training within six months.
Preferences
Previous experience in clinical and community settings, including outreach, networking, and clinical research, and in multicultural environments.
Background in marketing and graphic design.
