What Supply Chain Planning contributes to Cardinal Health

Supply Chain Planning is responsible for ensuring the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. This job family is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning, supply planning, deployment planning, inventory planning, collaborative planning, expediting, purchasing and the design and implementation of the supply chain network. Supply Chain Planning utilized supplier contracts and manufacturing parameters to exceed customer service level commitments while optimizing supply chain costs and inventory. Supply Chain Planning leverages technology to achieve best in class processes to position supply chain as a competitive advantage.

Job Summary

The Advisor, Demand Planner, role supports the Cardinal Health medical product finished goods business unit. As a demand planner, your primary responsibilities are to analyze demand patterns and generate statistical forecasts by collaborating with marketing on industry insights, and to manage any exception-based review of forecasts. Additionally, you'll collaborate with commercial teams to develop a consensus forecast which will be used to tie to annual financial projections, and work to identify closures to any gaps which may exist.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain forecast models for our customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, and other sources.

Develop, analyze, and recommend finished goods demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation.

Identifies areas of forecast risk and improvement opportunities for their assigned demand planning categories.

Provide support with data analytics, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.

Perform trend analysis to report inconsistencies with forecasts and actual sales.

Apply regression analysis, seasonality indices, and exception-based planning principles to forecasts.

Understand and articulate inherent risks in forecasting decisions and inform cross-functional partners to manage and mitigate appropriately.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in related field preferred.

5+ years experience in demand planning preferred. Basic conceptual knowledge of supply planning, net requirements, manufacturing best practices a plus.

Experience with S&OP cycle, particularly Demand Consensus, where applicant can gather data, analyze trends, and share recommendations with the cross-functional teams highly desired.

APICS CSCP, CPIM, or IBF certification preferred.

Experience with SAP APO & ECC, AS400 planning systems (such as PRMS), and Kinaxis Rapid Response highly desired.

Strong Excel skills with advanced formula utilization highly desired.

Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making skills strongly preferred.

Presentation skills strongly preferred.

Strong communication skills (written and oral) highly desired.

Anticipated salary range: $66,500 – $94,900
