Director/Sr. Director, Business Development
As the Director/Senior Director of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and securing partnerships that drive growth and support our strategic goals. This role requires a strong understanding of the biotech landscape, expertise in deal-making, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders. You will also be responsible for managing the process of evaluating potential partners, including scheduling meetings and managing follow-up actions.
This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and be in the Boston office three to four days a week. You will work closely with the CEO and the Executive Team.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Leadership:
Develop and execute business development plans aligned with company goals, collaborating closely with executive leadership to identify and prioritize growth opportunities. Partnership Identification & Execution:
Identify and evaluate strategic partnership opportunities. Build relationships with potential partners on the Glyph platform and be the point-person for inbound interest. Participate in negotiations, due diligence, and deal structuring. Market Analysis:
Conduct market research and competitive analysis of the neuropsychiatric therapeutic area to inform decision-making and assess potential business development opportunities. Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes. Relationship Management:
Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, and potential partners. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings, as requested. Financial Analysis & Valuation:
Work closely with Finance teams to develop financial models and conduct valuations for potential deals. Assess the ROI, risks, and strategic value of business development opportunities. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with R&D, regulatory, and legal teams to ensure that potential deals align with company capabilities and compliance requirements. Reporting & Presentations:
Prepare and deliver presentations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors, as requested, on progress, potential partnerships, and strategic recommendations. Qualifications: Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development or related roles within the biotech industry, with experience in a biopharma organization required. Education:
Bachelor’s degree or beyond in life science field with MBA or equivalent business experience. Proven Track Record:
Demonstrated success in closing deals, forming strategic partnerships, and achieving growth targets, as well as connecting with people and maintaining relationships. A deal sheet will be required and will be reviewed. Industry Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of the biotech/pharma landscape, including regulatory, clinical, and commercial dynamics. Skills:
Ability to connect with people and maintain relationships within the industry. Analytical mindset with experience in financial modeling and valuation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated experience presenting to senior management. Ability to navigate a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Proven ability to lead all elements of due diligence and deal negotiation. Organizational leadership experience preferred; ability to motivate others to advance goals, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects or roles in a rapidly evolving environment.
